Grants from ACE
Leahy Awards
The Thomas Leahy Awards for Educational Entrepreneurship are designed to encourage innovative projects and activities targeted to improve educational opportunity for needy students and/or under-resourced schools. The Leahy Awards are not only intended to benefit students and schools with great need, but to inspire and empower current and former ACE teachers to think creatively and concretely about ways to enact their dreams. Through the Notre Dame Awards for Educational Initiatives, ACE seeks to encourage current and former ACE teachers to become change agents. Award amounts range from $500 to $5000.

ACE Education Award to Catholic School Teachers
The decision to teach in Catholic schools after ACE often entails financial sacrifice, particularly when one considers individual debt originating from undergraduate student loans. In seeking to help alleviate that debt burden, ACE is pleased to offer education awards to several of its graduates who continue to teach in Catholic schools beyond their two-year ACE commitment, and who also demonstrate significant financial liability.
Participants are eligible to receive a maximum of two awards. The maximum cumulative amount of such awards will be $3,600 for those in ACE 7 and beyond. No graduate may apply later than seven years past his/her graduation date.
Payments will be made only to cover outstanding undergraduate Stafford and Perkins loans, and all checks will be issued directly to the lender. No checks will be issued to individuals.
Just as the use of the AmeriCorps education awards constitutes a taxable event, so too will the use of these awards be taxable. Click HERE to download an application.
