What is unique about your community?

Despite the fact that we have seven people with different personalities in our community, we get along very well. We cook together four times a week and have made many quality meals. One thing that is definitely unique is that we live in two apartments rather than a house. We spend most of our time together in the downstairs apartment which is home to our TV (from 1985) and our community dining room.

Provide a brief description of Dallas:

Dallas is a large, cosmopolitan city. You might say it’s yuppy, wealthy fun. Most of our schools, however, are in lower income areas such as the 100% Latino Oak Cliff neighborhood. We have the Cowboys, Mavericks, Stars, and Rangers, a lovely botanical garden and adjoining lake for running, and fantastic museums (field trip mecca). Traffic can get bad, though, especially at rush hour. Dallas has a little bit of everything, and the best part is that it is warm during most of the year. It’s also a great place to catch concerts – almost every major tour stops here. Finally, we live in a very safe neighborhood in a very urban part of Dallas (across from Southern Methodist University). Within walking distance you can find a grocery store, bank, Starbucks, travel agency, Blockbuster, and many restaurants and stores.

What do you like most about Dallas?

You can’t beat the weather, and the fact that we have pretty much anything we might need nearby is great! Living in a large city means that you can always find a way to entertain yourself.
