What is unique about your community?

Since our community is located in Los Angeles, we have the unique opportunity of having two other ACE communities within 15 minutes of us. Also in LA we have a strong relationship with the ACE Fellowship in the area through service projects and retreats. Bell Gardens specifically is the “hub of progress.” There is a lot of cultural diversity in the area. Our house is located within walking distance to St. Gertrude, as well as Jack ‘N Box, Don chente, Tom’s Burgers, and LA Fitness.

Provide a brief description of SC LA:

South Central LA is a melting pot of many different cultures. On any given Sunday there is Mass said on 38 different languages. The Latino communities at our school parishes are very welcoming to the ACE teachers. The parents of our students are thankful for the talents that we bring to their children.

What do you like most about SC LA?

Our house is located about 20-30 minutes (depending on wonderful LA traffic) from the beach. We all enjoy the sunny weather with 75 degree days in January. We also enjoy our proximity to the Angel’s and Dodgers’ stadiums. There are countless activities in LA, you just have to be willing to look for them!
