San Antonio House
What is unique about your community?
Our house has at least 15 different rooms, more mattresses than we know what to do with, and an amazing array of dated furniture in every nook and cranny. We have four king sized beds, one double bed, and one twin bed. We also enjoy supporting each other’s schools…Holy Cross football games and band concerts, and St. Paul’s musicals.

Provide a brief description of San Antonio:
San Antonio is the perfect example of a big small town. The historic small-town-feel mixes wonderfully with the skyscrapers. It is a popular tourist spot as well as a very family oriented city. You can enjoy the River walk and Alamo downtown. There is a great mix of culture, music, and the arts. San Antonio likes to find any excuse to party…meaning that festivals full of food, music, and beverage are not difficult to find. The concept of Tex-Mex breathes life into the city, molding everything from food to language spoken to names of streets. The weather can be pretty steamy and hot…but if there’s a patch of ice on some road in San Antonio, school will probably be cancelled.
What do you like most about San Antonio?
Cheap Mexican food that is a million times better than Taco Bell, the other volunteer organizations that come over and play, the feral dogs that stalk our yard, the beautiful murals, St. Mary’s University’s Oyster Bake and our front row seat to the entrance, being located in south-central Texas means that everyone in Tex-ACE should at least visit once, and there are millions of new things to do and see all the time.
