Federal Grants Initiative

(Arch)Diocesan leaders often suspect that their Catholic schools may not be receiving their equitable share of federal program services.  They have the need for a more detailed knowledge of federal education programs and need data to verify the participation levels of their schools. Our in-depth grasp of education policies and laws, including the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), can help you to gain that knowledge.

At the (arch)diocesan level, we work to determine whether schools are receiving their equitable share of services under ESEA and/or IDEA, whether services received are of high quality, the ease with which principals navigate the procedures for obtaining services for their students, and the consultation process conducted by the public school district to determine equitable services.  The data is obtained through an online survey of principals.  Utilizing this data, we make a determination regarding whether or not your (arch)diocese is receiving its equitable share of federal grants and whether or not the grants are being appropriately administered.  We then make recommendations to the (arch)diocese to help them better ensure equitable services.  ACE Consulting offers to provide technical assistance to carry out the recommendations and to approach public school districts or state departments of education to present our research in order to help you access your equitable share.

The cost of these services is covered under a generous grant from the Walton Foundation.
