How much does the ENL Program cost?

The ENL Program has a base cost of $9,500, but most of our participants are eligible for tuition assistance (see below). Tuition covers all academic work and both housing and food for the two weeks participants are on Notre Dame's campus. This cost does not include transportation to and from The University of Notre Dame or books for classes. ENL participants typically fund all or part of their participation in the ENL program with the help of various avenues of support.

Where can I find tuition assistance to help fund my participation?

The ENL Program does its best not to let the inability to pay tuition prevent good candidates from participating in the program. Most teachers in the ENL program receive tuition assistance from:

• School or diocesan support
• ACE-ENL scholarships totaling up to $4,500
• Stafford or Perkins loans accessed through Notre Dame’s Office of Financial Aid
• Title II or III federal funds
• Participation in the Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program (for teachers in schools with 30% or more of the student population receiving free or reduced lunch).

How do I find out more about scholarships and tuition assistance?

There are numerous scholarships available for participants who do not use federal funds accessed through a third party provider to pay for the program. Please view the Tuition Assistance Form on the 2011 ENL Application or contact Clare Roach for more information.
