As artificial intelligence continues to reshape education, work, communication, and human relationships, the Catholic Church is also deepening its engagement with the ethical and human questions surrounding these technologies.
In this special conversation, Fr. Nate Wills and Lewis Poche will offer an initial overview and first reflections on the Vatican’s encyclical addressing artificial intelligence. Designed specifically for Catholic school educators and leaders, this session will help participants begin understanding the significance of the document and its potential implications for K–12 Catholic education.
Attendees will leave with:
1) a clearer understanding of why the Church is engaging artificial intelligence so directly
2) initial insights into themes likely to impact Catholic education and leadership
3) language for discussing AI through the lens of Catholic social teaching and human formation
4) questions and reflection points for future faculty and leadership conversations
RSVP through Zoom. Attendees are eligible for 0.5 Professional Growth Plan (PGP) points by attending this event.
