Reports to: President, Charles G. Bolser, C.S.V.

Summary

Directs all work-study activities, including overall policy and strategy development, operations, administration and budget. Focuses efforts on the academic, spiritual, and professional growth of our students, according to the mission of St. Martin de Porres.. Is a member of the Leadership team along with the President, Principal and directors of Development, Enrollment and Finance.

Typical Functions
1. Coordinates and develops the Corporate Internship Program focusing on the students’ growth in accordance with the mission of SMdP.

2. Works closely with the President to establish overall strategy, goals and objectives for the program, students and area businesses.

3. Leads all staff in the Corporate Internship Program. Provides direction, sets goals and ensures that various employees work toward overall program objectives.

4. Develops and maintains relationships with area businesses to procure job placement for the students.

5. Manages the process of employment law adherence. Ensures that any employment law updates are communicated and enforced.

6. Ensures that prospective employers are adhering to employment laws and are committed to diversity in the workplace (affirmative action plan if applicable).

7. Secures appropriate insurance in all areas needed (workers compensation, unemployment, etc.) in conjunction with the President.

8. Responsible for students’ admissions, discipline and discharge in conjunction with the President.

9. Oversees student job preparation including training. Supervises the student intern evaluation process. Monitors students’ performance while on the job.

10. Manages the transportation process to and from the job site.

11. Maintains oversight of financial operations and obligations of the Corporate Internship Program Corporation, working closely with the President.

12. Maintains ongoing management of budget development and administration.

13. Serves as a member of the school’s leadership team and advises the President on operations, school policies, budget matters and other items related to the running of SMdP.

14. Communicates the philosophy and programs of SMdP to the local businesses, parents’ groups and the general community. Represents the school at civic, religious and other public functions as requested.

15. Participates in general and committee meetings of the Board of Directors and implements directives of the Board as delegated by the President.

16. Performs other duties and special projects as required.

Position Requirements
➢ Masters in business, education or related field.

➢ Minimum 5 years experience in business administration including budgeting, training and supervising staff.

➢ Sensitivity to the ethnic, racial and religious backgrounds of the student body.

➢ Ability to articulate the mission of the school and the Cristo Rey Network.

➢ Training and mentoring experience a plus.

➢ Knowledge of labor laws a plus.

➢ Fluency in the Spanish language is preferred.
