ACE Consulting Initiative
The Notre Dame Task Force on Catholic Education called for increased services for and support to the financial welfare and management of Catholic schools. In response to this urgent need, the Alliance for Catholic Education is building ACE Consulting.
The mission of ACE Consulting at the University of Notre Dame is to provide high quality, professional consultative services at an affordable cost to under-resourced elementary and secondary Catholic schools, especially Catholic schools at risk. ACE Consulting seeks to enhance the viability and vitality of selected Catholic schools by addressing areas critical to school success, and offering strategies to leverage public and private resources to promote institutional advancement.
Stephen A. Perla, superintendent of schools for the Catholic Diocese of Worcester, Mass., has been appointed the first director of the ACE Consulting Initiative as of June 2008. As a member of Notre Dame’s national Task Force on Catholic Education, he contributed to the report it published in December 2006, Making God Known, Loved, and Served: The Future of Catholic Primary and Secondary Schools in the United States.
“ACE is committed to strengthening and sustaining under-resourced Catholic schools. This new consulting initiative is one more effort to ensure that our Church’s educational ministry remains strong and vibrant.”
ACE founder Rev. Timothy R. Scully, C.S.C., director of the Institute for Educational Initiatives at Notre Dame.
