ACE Austin brings the best of the US under one roof – Nick from New Jersey, Peter from California, Jeannine from Colorado, and Elena from Texas. We are a self-contained community beginning our ACE journey together and looking forward to what we know will be an incredible two years of living in community, teaching, and growing in faith. We share a duplex in South Austin with neighbors from the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, and live 10 minutes from the center of the city of Austin.
Austin is one of the most coveted ACE sites. It’s the live music capital of the world and home to the world’s largest bat colony. It’s deep in the heart of Texas and a vintage college town where there’s always something to do, from book festivals to film festivals and even rowing on the Colorado River. For those who love the outdoors, fabulous routes along the river are available for biking, running, and leisurely strolls.
ACE Austin can be found keepin’ it caliente on Sixth Street, floating down the Guadalupe River, catching a live show in the city, exploring a dive restaurant, walking around UT, or taking a drive to visit the other TexACE communities. Both San Juan Diego and St. Ignatius are staffed in part by members of the Order of the Holy Cross, and have a history of retaining ACE teachers and even welcoming teachers from other communities post-ACE!
