Mission House
We are a community of 6 who enjoy exploring the surroundings of our “Casa de Guadalupe” which is situated in a neighborhood with an HEB grocery store down the block, a Western wear store two blocks away, the local church two blocks away with an “Aggie” pastor who says Mass with his dogs on the altar and also plays country music during the liturgy. If that wasn’t enough, one of our favorite places to hangout is only a few blocks away where we karaoke the night away with Winter Texans and Bigfoot (the owner). It is also the location of our annual Cinco de Mayo Party.

Mission is the grapefruit capital of the U.S. located in the Texas-Mexico border area known as “the Valley.” Named for La Lomita Mission which was built right on the Rio Grande River, it is a great place to enjoy Friday night football games, free movies in a local theater, and local taquerias. Mission is a city of approxiamtely 45,000, but it is only 15 minutes from McAllen, a larger city with plenty of restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. It is also only about an hour from South Padre Island and Brownsville ACE community.
The Valley is a amazing blend of American, Mexican, and Texan culture that you can find nowhere else in the country. It is a great place to live if your looking for a truly unique experience and if you love the sunshine.

ACE is proud to participate in the year long conversation on K-12 education. Learn more at forum.nd.edu
