ACE in the City:
Since 1995, ACE has served Catholic schools along the Mississippi Gulf Coast in both Biloxi and Pascagoula. Eight teachers in the ACE Teaching Fellows program currently serve four schools in the diocese: Resurrection High School, Resurrection Elementary School, St. Patrick Catholic High School, and St. Alphonsus Elementary School.
After the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, a group of University of Notre Dame students spent their fall break working with ACE teachers in Biloxi and nearby Hattiesburg, Miss., to help repair and clean up their schools and the homes of some students. As a result of the students’ efforts, the University of Notre Dame was one of nine schools in the nation to receive a Katrina Compassion Award for Excellence in Hurricane Relief Service from the Corporation for National and Community Service.
Back in the ACE offices of South Bend, Christian Dallavis, Senior Director of Leadership Programs, served as a member of the fourth cohort of ACE Teaching Fellows at Mercy Cross Catholic School in Biloxi, and Matt Gelchion, associate director of the Program for K-12 Educational Access, taught at Resurrection Catholic School in Pascagoula.
ACE Teaching Fellows and Mary Ann Remick Leadership Program graduate Michael McLaughlin formerly served at Biloxi’s St. Patrick Catholic High School as teacher then principal for seven years and is now the first lay principal of St. Benedict Academy in Manchester, N.H.

The University of Notre Dame Sorin Award for Service to Catholic Schools
A native of Pascagoula, Miss., and a lifelong member of Our Lady of Victory parish, Bragg Moore is approaching his 28th anniversary as the Director of Youth Ministry for the Diocese of Biloxi this summer. As director, Moore has fostered youth engagement in the diocese and inspired kids, teens, and young adults to grow in and embrace their faith through youth-oriented programs and events at the various parishes throughout the diocese including retreats, conferences and celebrations. Part of Moore’s mission has been to educate youth ministers in the most effective ways of embracing and educating youth through the Diocesan Certification Program for all Catechists which include High School Religious Studies teachers and parish Adult Youth Ministers.
The Moore family as a whole has been a tremendous asset to the Resurrection Catholic Middle and High School communities in Pascagoula. Bragg's wife, Linda, currently teachers at the middle school alongside daughter, Kiley (Moore) Leonard, who graduated from the ACE Teaching Fellows program in 2006.
