AICSN hosts an annual Summer Institute that brings together school leaders and educators from our partner schools. It is an excellent opportunity for Network schools to interact and collaborate. Professional development hours are offered to attendees. The Summer Institute consists of lectures from experts in the field of education, thought-provoking discussions, and time for reflection. The AICSN Summer Institute has been hosted at Creighton University and Denver, Colorado in the past. Since 2018, the Summer Institute has been hosted at the University of Notre Dame.
Notre Dame 2019
The 2019 Summer Institute was hosted at the University of Notre Dame from July 29th to July 31st. The overarching theme of the conference was "The Joys, and Challenges, of Working with Middle School Students." Topics included inclusionary teaching practices, Catholic identity in the middle school classroom, classroom management, college conversations with middle schoolers, and mental health. The Summer Institute also included a trip to Silver Beach at Lake Michigan. It was an excellent three days of collaboration and learning!
