Faculty Support, English as a New Language

Mariah Townsend is a third-grade teacher at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School in Omaha, Nebraska. She received her B.A. in Elementary Education with a concentration in Language Arts Education in 2016 from The College of St. Benedict/St. John’s University in St. Joseph, Minnesota. Mariah is passionate about continuing her education and sharing the joys of being a lifelong learner with her students. She completed her ENL certification through the University of Notre Dame in 2018, and recently completed her Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction through Doane University. Townsend is thrilled to continue working with the ENL family as faculty support. In the classroom, Mariah is passionate about advocating for all students, celebrating the gifts of culturally and linguistically diverse students and families, and the importance of bilingual education. Townsend believes in the power of caring adult role-models in a child’s life, and finds joy in seeing the growth of her students while helping them find and pursue their passions.
