Can my school apply to be part of the Higher-Powered Learning Program?
All schools serving grades K-8 in the Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota area are welcome to apply to be part of this program. Though the GHR Foundation's mission focuses specifically on Catholic schools, the Higher-Powered Learning Program is not limited to Catholic schools.
Where else is the Higher-Powered Learning Program taking place?
A pilot version of the Higher-Powered Learning Program is currently in progress in three Notre Dame ACE Academies in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. This is the first official expansion site of the Higher-Powered Learning Program and the team will carefully evaluate its scalability throughout the project.
Our school does not currently have Chromebooks or iPads. Can we apply for the Higher-Powered Learning Program?
Yes! The GHR Foundation has generously agreed to finance the participating schools' initial hardware and infrastructure needs, including the required Chromebooks and wifi upgrades for schools in need. For more information about funding, be sure to attend one of the virtual information sessions.
Our school already has Chromebooks or iPads. Should we still apply for the Higher-Powered Learning Program?
Absolutely! The Higher-Powered Learning Program focuses on how teachers can most effectively using technology to improve student learning. This program is more about instruction than technology, and it will greatly benefit any school seeking to improve the quality of its instruction.
How much does it cost for a school to participate in the Higher-Powered Learning Program?
Thanks to a generous gift from the GHR Foundation, schools do not have to pay to participate in the Higher-Powered Learning Program. Furthermore, a significant portion of the schools' cost to implement the program (i.e. hardware and infrastructure costs) are also covered by the Foundation's grant.
