"Live Nun Talking!": Sr. Helen Prejean, C.S.J. Visits Notre Dame

On Tuesday, July 2, the Alliance for Catholic Education welcomed Sr. Helen Prejean, C.S.J., to Notre Dame's campus. After spending some time with the ACE Teaching Fellows and Remick Leaders, Sr. Helen addressed the ACE community and concluded her visit with daily Mass in the Dillon Hall Chapel.

  • Sr. Helen enjoyed a lunch with some ACE Teaching Fellows in Notre Dame's South Dining Hall.
  • Prior to her talk, Sr. Helen took some time to visit with members of the ACE community in the Dahnke Ballroom in the Duncan Student Center.
  • Sr. Helen shares a story with the Acting Director of the Institute for Educational Initiatives, Dr. John J. Staud, and Fr. Timothy Scully, C.S.C., the founder of the Alliance for Catholic Education.
  • Sr. Helen's one request for the evening was that the tables be decorated in Mardi Gras colors.
  • Sr. Helen was officially welcomed into the ACE Family when she posed for an ACE Chalkboard Photo. Her sign reads, "Live nun talking".
  • Sr. Helen address members of the ACE community in the Dahnke Ballroom on the 7th floor of the Duncan Student Center.
  • After hearing Sr. Helen's moving talk about her life's work, Remick Leaders and ACE Teaching Fellows were given the opportunity to discuss her message at their individual tables before the evening concluded with a Q and A session.
  • Sr. Helen chatted with Remick Leaders, ACE Teaching Fellows, and others after her talk.
