Jayleen Santiago Diaz was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in English Education, specialized in English as a Second Language from the University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras. She ha a Master's Degree in Educational Psychology, specialized in Cognition, Learning, and Development from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Her nine-year career as an educator started as a high school English teacher in Puerto Rico, followed by middle school English education for the Diocese of Lincoln, Nebraska. She currently works as the Director of the ELL program and middle school Spanish teacher at St. Matthew Cathedral School in South Bend, IN.
Jayleen is passionate about positive psychology in education. She is a strong advocate for educating with empathy and compassion.
