- jmaschar@nd.edu
Jen Maschari teaches 4th grade in a self-contained classroom at Saint Mary Magdalene School in Columbus, Ohio. SMM is a culturally diverse school where over 40% of the students have a home language other than English. She is especially passionate about bringing multilingual literature into the classroom and helping students share their stories and voices through writing.
Jen earned her undergraduate degree in Middle Childhood Education with concentrations in science and language arts from the University of Dayton and an M.Ed. from Ohio Dominican University in Curriculum and Instruction. She received her English as a New Language certification through Notre Dame's Hernandez Fellows program, as a proud member of Cohort 18. In her free time, she enjoys walking, listening to audiobooks, writing, and spending time with her husband and two English bulldogs.
