Commemorative Giving Opportunities

The ACE family remembers those departed our community in a special way through commemorative funds or programs, that in their memory we may continue to support children and families through Catholic education.

To remember and celebrate the life of Chris Lary, his classmates, with the assistance of the ACE team, initiated the Chris Lary Memorial Fund. Chris graduated from Notre Dame in ‘96 and was set to become a member of the ACE 3 cohort. The scholarship named in Chris’s honor benefits teachers and schools through smaller grants that target the creativity and passion with which Chris lived his life. To continue the good work that Chris began, please indicate that you would like your gift to go toward the Chris Lary Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Through the generosity of his family and friends, ACE has established the Tim Williamson Memorial Scholarship Fund, which supports scholarships for African-American students at a Catholic school designated by Tim’s family. This scholarship program honors the life of Tim Williamson, who graduated from Notre Dame in ’96 and taught in ACE in Lake Charles, Louisiana, for two years. To support this project and remember the life of this wonderful ACE graduate, please designate your gift to ACE toward the Tim Williamson Memorial Scholarship Fund.

ACE has established the Rachel Quiñones Memorial Scholarship Fund, which supports scholarships for students at St. Joseph Academy in Brownsville, TX, where Rachel taught. This scholarship program honors the life of Rachel Quiñones, who graduated as a member of ACE 23. To support this project and honor Rachel's legacy, please designate your gift to ACE toward the Rachel Quiñones Memorial Scholarship Fund.

On February 3, 2021, Dr. Rachel Moreno, our beloved colleague who supervised hundreds of ACE teachers and worked with our English as a New Language program, passed away after a bout with pancreatic cancer.

The Rachel Moreno Endowment for Latino Leadership in Catholic Education was created to honor her incredible legacy and advance the mission of supporting Latinx educators interested in pursuing leadership positions in our nation's Catholic schools.

Thomas “Doc” Doyle dedicated his life to Catholic education and the thousands of students who crossed the threshold of his classrooms. Insatiably curious, Doc never stopped asking questions about teaching, theology, literature, and especially the natural and physical world. His direct impact on the lives of his students is likely only surpassed by the impact he had on tens of thousands of students through the ACE teachers he helped form and supervise over two decades.

Doc passed away on September 9, 2021, but his persistent questions, joyful teasing, and Southern gentleness will live on in memory throughout the ACE community. To honor Doc’s incredible legacy and life’s work, ACE created the Thomas L. Doyle Endowment for STEM Education. This endowment will be used to promote exceptional teaching and learning of science and mathematics in Catholic schools.
