Program Requirements
- Applicants participate in a three-week hybrid summer experience.
- Applicants participate in two online classes during each semester.
- Applicants must be actively teaching English learners.
- Applicants must have permission from their administration, as their classroom will be affected by the practicum experience.
- Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree.
Licensure Information
The ENL Hernandez Fellows program is an Indiana-approved licensure program designed to prepare educators for English as a New Language (ENL) licensure.
Out-of-State Candidates:
Successful completion of ENL Hernandez Fellows does not guarantee immediate ENL licensure in other states, and additional steps may be required. Because educator licensure requirements vary by state and are subject to change, candidates are responsible for researching the requirements for ENL licensure in their home states. These requirements may include additional exams, coursework, internship hours, etc.
