JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Grade 1 Classroom Teacher
Reports To: Principal of School & Pastor of All Souls Parish
Office/ Dept: Department of Catholic Schools
FLSA Status: Full-Time, Exempt
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The essential functions includes but are not limited to the following:
Instructional Leadership:
Plan, implement, and assess a comprehensive first-grade curriculum aligned with Archdiocesan standards and California State Standards. Foster academic excellence, spiritual development and a love of learners.
Classroom Management:
Create and maintain a structured, positive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes respect, responsibility, and safety. Establish and reinforce consistent routines and behavior expectations.
Faith Formation:
Integrate Catholic teachings and values into daily instruction and classroom culture. Lead students in daily prayer and actively participate in school liturgies and religious celebrations.
Assessment and Differentiation:
Use formal and informal assessments to monitor student progress. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and styles of all students.
Parent Communication:
Maintain regular communication with parents through conferences, newsletters, and digital platforms. Collaborate with families to support student development and success.
Collaboration:
Work collegially with fellow teachers, specialists, and administration Attend and contribute to staff meetings, professional development, and school events.
Recordkeeping:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, academic performance, and behavior. Prepare report cards and progress reports in a timely manner.
Supervision:
Supervise students during recess, lunch, field trips, and school events as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Professional Disposition:
● Passion for teaching and commitment to student success
● Strong interpersonal, communication, and classroom management skills
● Flexibility for cultural diversity and ability to work in a multicultural setting
EXPERIENCE:
Preferred:
● Minimum of 1-2 years of successful teaching experience at the elementary level
● Experience with differentiated instruction and integrating technology into teaching
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
● Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
● Valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential or eligibility to obtain.
● Valid California Teaching Commission certificate of clearance
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
● Ability to stand, walk, and move around the classroom and school campus throughout the day
● Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed
● Sufficient stamina to actively engage with young students throughout the school day

● $59,515 - $91,652
