3rd grade teacher

Queen of Peace Catholic School is seeking a joyful, faith-filled, and student-centered educator to join our faculty as a 3rd Grade Teacher. Third grade is a magical, pivotal year where students transition from "learning to read" to "reading to learn," and from basic arithmetic to foundational multiplication and division.
The ideal candidate will create a nurturing, structured classroom environment where academic excellence and Catholic spiritual formation go hand-in-hand.

1. Spiritual & Moral Formation
Infuse daily instruction with Catholic values, virtues, and scripture.
Lead daily classroom prayers and prepare students to actively participate in weekly school Masses.
Cultivate a classroom culture built on the Gospel virtues of kindness, forgiveness, and respect for others.
2. Academic Excellence & Instruction
Deliver a comprehensive 3rd-grade curriculum including English Language Arts (reading, writing, grammar), Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science, aligned with IN State standards.
Guide students through critical math milestones, ensuring mastery of:
Multiplication and division concepts.
In-depth place value, rounding, and introductory fractions.
Foster a love for reading through guided reading groups, phonics reinforcement, and reading comprehension strategies.
Implement hands-on science activities and collaborative social studies projects.
Utilize differentiated instruction to support diverse learning needs, ranging from remedial support to enrichment.
3. Classroom Management & Communication
Establish clear routines, positive behavior expectations, and a warm, organized physical learning environment.
Maintain consistent, professional communication with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and academic goals.
Utilize educational technology effectively to enhance learning.
Maintain accurate attendance, academic records, and report cards.
