Summary of Position

The Admissions Coordinator directs the student admissions process, markets St. Joseph’s Indian School to
outside agencies, and assists with student retention programs and processes. This is an exempt position.

Accountability

Reports to the 1-6 grade Residential Director

Core Responsibilities

 Supports and models the Catholic Mission and the Native American Culture that are the foundations of St.
Joseph’s Indian School.
 Promotes a reclaiming environment for all students through the Circle of Courage.

Responsibilities

1. Coordinates the student admissions process (obtains records; complete interviews; maintain student
status worksheet; and informs the school office and registrar of acceptances).
2. Coordinates student admission meetings (scheduling, completion of student review sheets, obtaining
student placement information).
3. Maintains backup files and schedules admission meetings as needed.
4. Continually investigates innovative strategies to match our services with families’ needs:
 Coordinates regular visits with potential referral agencies, organizations and families
 Plans and organizes informational booths at tribal, community and other gatherings
 Assists with the development of informational brochures, fliers and videos
5. Assists with facilitation of Co-Pilot programming and new student orientation efforts.
6. Oversees student transportation for school breaks and vacations. Serves as contact with tribes,
identifies drivers, coordinates departure and arrival times, and communicates with administration and
staff.
7. Completes on-call responsibilities as assigned.
8. Provides assistance with alumni and similar activities as requested.
9. Performs other duties as required by the 1-6 grade Residential Director.

Qualifications

 4-year degree required
 Experience in residential care, social work, and/or social services preferred

Physical Demands

 Uses both hands and wrists repetitively for prolonged periods.
 Driving is required.
 Some supervision may require standing for prolonged periods.

Expectations of Hours Worked

At least 40 hours/week
