St. Francis Xavier Catholic School System is seeking a Campus Minister to join our team! As Campus Minister at Xavier Middle School, this individual fosters the faith development and discipleship of students and staff. This position also works with campus and System leaders to support faith development and discipleship of students and staff across the Xavier System. We are seeking a practicing Catholic who has experience in youth ministry and with collaborating with others to support the faith development of students and adults.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Liturgy, Retreats & Service

- Lead the planning and implementing of weekly masses for XMS, and assist other campuses as needed.
- Coordinate the liturgy schedule as well as securing celebrants across all campuses
- Assist with reconciliation services at the XMS, and assist other campuses as needed
- Maintain, organize, and order all liturgical supplies
- Assist with the planning and implementation of the retreats at XMS
- Coordinate annual Xavier Day at XMS to celebrate the Feast of St. Francis Xavier

Faith Development of Students
- Assist and support XMS staff and families in the faith formation of XMS students
- Lead the planning of Advent and Lenten activities at XMS
- Coordinate Catholic Schools Week across the Xavier System in collaboration with campus administrators

Faith Development of Employees
- Collaborate with Superintendent and campus administrators in planning faith development activities for staff
- Support effective implementation of Foundational Catechetical Certification (FCC) for faculty and school administrators

Catholic Identity & Parish Relations
- Assist with and support The Defining Characteristics of Xavier Catholic Schools and related strategic initiatives

Academic Excellence
- Collaborate with and support XMS Religion teachers
- Seek out ways to support XMS teachers with integration of Catholic Identity into the curriculum

Qualifications:
- A minimum of a BA/BS in Education in the appropriate subject area, Master’s Degree preferred
- Previous experience in a school setting is beneficial, but not required.
- Understanding of and experience with the faith development of students and adults
- Experience dealing with situations relative to adolescent physical, social and temperamental issues preferred
- Good written and verbal communication skills and technical reading and writing skills.
- Ability to communicate with and serve all levels of management.
- Works well with others from diverse backgrounds.
- General knowledge of computer usage and ability to use e-mail, internet and word processing software.
- Submission to a legal background check
- Willingness to participate in Foundational Catechetical Certification (FCC)
