Science Department Teaching Faculty
Full-Time Position: Chemistry Teacher
Expected Start Date: August 2024

La Lumiere School is excited to welcome applications for the position of Chemistry Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching high school Chemistry, likely including Chemistry, AP Chemistry, and Physical Sciences courses, as well as working with students outside of the classroom. In the Science Department, we focus on meeting students where they are, differentiating instruction effectively, and supporting students’ academic and personal growth.

Primary Responsibilities
Teach 5 sections of classes each semester
Sponsor/supervise a co-curricular activity during two seasons
Serve as an advisor to a group of approximately eight students

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in the relevant academic discipline. Master’s degree preferred.
Three or more years of teaching experience at the secondary level preferred
Experience working with students outside of the classroom through coaching, mentorship, or other activities preferred

Application Details
Faculty compensation packages are competitive. If a faculty member resides on campus, the school provides year-round housing and meals when school is in session for the faculty member and his/her family as a part of the benefits package. Other benefits include an optional health plan, a contribution to a 403(b) retirement account, and professional development opportunities.

Ten-month appointment (August-June)
