The University of Notre Dame’s Institute for Educational Initiatives (IEI) is seeking temporary assistance for a Digital Content and Web Strategist to lead the creation and optimization of dynamic web and mobile content across its digital platforms. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape how IEI communicates its research, programs, and impact to a broad audience—including educators, students, funders, and partners. You’ll use your expertise in content strategy, SEO, analytics, and user experience to strengthen digital engagement and support campaigns for recruitment, research dissemination, and storytelling across IEI’s mission-driven initiatives.
Temporary request for IEI/Comm assistance for the role:
Role & Responsibilities:
- Develop, create, and manage engaging digital content that aligns with IEI’s brand strategy and speaks to the interests of multiple stakeholders
- Collaborate with communications team members to execute a content strategy that drives internal and external engagement
- Lead the migration of select partner websites from Joomla to WordPress, ensuring continuity, usability, and brand consistency
- Conduct an SEO audit of the IEI website and implement best practices to improve site structure, content visibility, and search engine rankings
- Build and maintain a web metrics dashboard using Google Analytics (web and mobile) to measure and report performance
- Analyze web and mobile engagement data to continuously optimize content and user experience
- Manage an editorial calendar and contribute to storytelling through blog posts, research summaries, and feature stories
- Support testing and development of new mobile capabilities (responsive design, personalization, app-based experiences) to drive user engagement
This is a temporary position with the potential to make a lasting impact on the visibility and accessibility of the Institute’s work. The Digital Content and Web Strategist will play a key role in shaping how IEI tells its story online and connects with the audiences it serves.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in digital content creation, web strategy, or digital marketing
- Exceptional writing and storytelling skills with a clear, engaging style
- Familiarity with content management systems (Conductor or WordPress is preferred; Joomla or Drupal a plus)
- Demonstrated experience with Google Analytics and SEO best practices
- Strong editorial and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Understanding of UX/UI principles and how they relate to content strategy
- Collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills
