St. Ambrose Catholic School, home to the only Catholic dual language program in Virginia, is seeking a passionate and experienced Early Childhood English Immersion Teacher to join our vibrant and growing 50/50 Dual Language Immersion Program. While Spanish proficiency is not required for this position, bilingual candidates or those with knowledge of Spanish language and culture are highly encouraged to apply.

Established in 2022, our dual language program began with Kindergarten and now extends through Pre-Kindergarten to Second Grade. Our vision is to expand through Eighth Grade by 2030, creating a fully bilingual and biliterate pathway for our students.

The English Immersion Early Childhood Teacher will play a vital role in our Early Childhood Center, working collaboratively with our Spanish Immersion educators to nurture a joyful, academically rigorous, and faith-filled environment. This teacher will deliver the English portion of either the PreK4 or Kindergarten curriculum, while their Spanish Immersion counterpart teaches the corresponding Spanish portion. Together, they will cultivate a classroom culture where students thrive in both languages.

Key Responsibilities
● Lead instruction in English, ensuring students develop strong foundational literacy and academic skills.
● Collaborate with Spanish Immersion teachers to create a cohesive and engaging learning experience.
● Design and implement developmentally appropriate, hands-on learning experiences that support young learners’ cognitive, social, spiritual, and emotional growth.
● Foster a nurturing, faith-filled classroom environment where students feel valued, safe, and encouraged to explore and learn.
● Assess and track student progress, using data to inform instruction and communicate effectively with families and team members.
● Contribute to a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous professional growth.

Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (Master’s preferred).
● Teaching certification and experience in early childhood education, particularly in preschool and kindergarten settings.
● Passion for early childhood education

● Dedication to Catholic education and a willingness to integrate faith-based values into the learning experience
