Job Opening: Elementary School Teacher - Kindergarten
Annunciation Catholic School is a dynamic, welcoming, and inclusive Catholic International Baccalaureate (IB) World school, serving students from Kindergarten through 8th grade in the heart of Southwest Minneapolis since 1923. We currently serve 340 students in Kindergarten-8th Grade. We also have a 33-months-age 5 Preschool program on our campus run by LADC.
As the only Catholic IB – PYP World School in the Twin Cities Metro area, we provide inquiry-based instruction and student-focused activities to engage students in meaningful learning in a welcoming, inclusive, and faith-filled community. We are proud to form and educate students and partner with families to send our graduates out into their high schools and beyond committed to curiosity, life-long learning, servant-leadership, and living their faith to transform their communities and our world.
We are seeking a qualified, enthusiastic and passionate elementary school teacher to join our team of dedicated educators. This teacher will be part of a collaborative team, helping create a positive, engaging environment for learning. Our primary classroom teachers work collaboratively with their partner teachers and teacher aides to meet students where they are at and take them to new heights throughout the year. We have an incredibly supportive faculty and staff that enjoys coming to work every day and serving our students and each other. QUALIFICATIONS
+ Ability to work effectively with others
+ Ability to apply understanding of child development (physical, emotional, and academic) in classroom
+ Ability to interact and clearly communicate with children, parents, and staff members
+ Ability to create a meaningful, inviting learning environment to meet the needs of our students in partnership with families
+ Strong classroom management skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field, Master’s Degree preferred
+ Current Minnesota Department of Education Teaching Licensure (or pending) preferred
+ Strong expertise in effective teaching of literacy, phonics, and math
+ Familiarity with International Baccalaureate PYP approach preferred, but not required
