The Position:
The English teacher will be assigned a maximum of five sections of courses and work alongside other English
teachers within our school’s Languages Department.
The first day of the school year for faculty is August 21, 2024. New teachers are expected to attend a summer training in Chicago at dates to be determined. Expenses for this training are covered by the school.
Requirements:
-Bachelor’s Degree in English or related field required
- Master’s Degree in Secondary Education or English-related field is preferred but not required
-Prior successful full-time teaching experience in grades 7-12 is strongly preferred
- Able to use technology to further student learning (i.e. Google Classroom, Zoom, PowerSchool)
- Prior experience in Cristo Rey schools, Teach for America, Alliance for Catholic Education, Urban
Catholic Teacher Corps of Boston College, or NativityMiguel schools is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits:
Starting salary is $55,000. The exact amount is commensurate with experience and benchmarked with our peer local and Cristo Rey Network schools. Comprehensive benefits are included in the overall compensation package.
