Position Overview
St. Paul of the Cross School is seeking a dynamic, faith-filled, and collaborative 4th Grade Teacher to join our elementary team. This position is part of a three-teacher, self-contained 4th grade team. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for teaching, a commitment to Catholic education, and a strong background in elementary instruction—particularly in Language Arts and Reading.
Primary Responsibilities
Foster a Christ-centered classroom environment that supports the spiritual, academic, and social development of all students
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated instruction across core subject areas within a self-contained classroom model
Collaborate closely with the 4th grade team to ensure consistency, alignment, and innovation in instruction
Utilize data to inform instruction and support student growth
Integrate technology effectively, including the use of iPads, to enhance learning
Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities
Support and implement accommodations in partnership with the school’s inclusion program
Participate actively in school liturgies, events, and the broader faith community
Engage in ongoing professional growth and development
Qualifications
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Elementary Education endorsement
Degree in Elementary Education and/or a focus in Language Arts/Reading preferred
Commitment to the mission of Catholic education
Strong classroom management and organizational skills
Ability to collaborate effectively within a team-based teaching model
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
