Our Lady of Mercy Academy (OLMA) is seeking a High School English Teacher to join our outstanding faculty for the 2025-2026 school year. The successful candidate will teach English Literature and Composition to grades 9-12. The candidate should bring energy for the subject matter to the classroom setting with a genuine passion for English/Language Arts.
Opened in 2020, OLMA is a thriving private Catholic high school in downtown Keene, New Hampshire. With small class sizes, OLMA is focused on academic excellence, service, faith, and family. The ideal candidate would be an actively practicing Catholic who supports the school’s mission, models Catholic values, and engages fully in the life of the school community. Sharing a vibrant campus with Saint Joseph Regional School (PK-8 founded in 1886) and Parish of the Holy Spirit/Saint Bernard Church, OLMA is dedicated to educating the mind, body, and spirit of each student in the Catholic tradition.
A desire and ability to work with teens is essential in this position. Candidates should have a demonstrated interest in making a positive impact on the lives of students. Candidates must lead through example and teaching, and can see the potential in all students as they work with individuals of all ability levels. The candidate should also be willing to work collegially with administration and fellow faculty members to explore effective and creative methods of instruction, assessment, and student support. Responsibilities will include designing and implementing standards-based lessons, providing students with constructive feedback, communicating with parents, and collaborating with fellow teachers. Exceptional interpersonal, written, teamwork, and oral communication skills are necessary as well as excellent classroom management skills. Experience with Google Classroom is preferred.
Two or more years of high school teaching experience and NHDOE certification preferred, but not required. Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
