JOB SUMMARY
Kennedy Catholic is seeking a dynamic and self-directed educator to teach 5 sections of
Spanish courses within the theology department. Key responsibilities include instruction
and curriculum development, assessment, classroom management and parent
communication; collaboration with colleagues to ensure quality and consistency of overall
program; willing participation in the co-curricular and ministerial life of the school;
mentorship for student engagement; and fulfillment of all additional supervision duties
expected of full-time teachers.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Linguistics or Native Speaker
• Master’s degree or higher preferred
• Washington State teaching certificate or the ability to obtain one
• Familiarity with educational technology
• Recent classroom experience; preferably in a high school setting
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The ideal candidate will possess the skills and abilities to:
• Skill and ability to teach a broad range of levels of Spanish language courses
• Ability to be flexible and resourceful
• Desire to work with students from a variety of cultural backgrounds
• Ability to create and implement authentic assessments (formative and summative)
• Ability to use technology as a tool in the classroom
• Demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of high school students in a
multicultural setting
• Possess the knowledge and skills to develop positive interpersonal relationships

• Good organization and management skills
• Ability to meet individual student needs in the development of department goals
and restructuring of the curriculum
• Desire to collaborate with colleagues including team teaching and professional
learning communities
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
• Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges,
market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and
certifications. Salary is dependent upon experience, certification, and education
according to Kennedy Catholic’s faculty compensation schedule. For the 2025-2026
school year, a teacher’s salary ranges between $55,962 and $106,217.
