Stone Ridge is seeking a Long-Term Upper School Science Substitute to begin in November 2024. 
 
Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, a member of the international Network of Sacred Heart Schools, is a Catholic, independent college preparatory school for girls, Grades 1-12, with a co-educational Early Childhood Program, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten in Bethesda, Maryland. The Upper School Science Long-Term Substitute Teacher is responsible for teaching in alignment with the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Education. The ideal candidate will teach 2 sections of Biology and 2 sections of AP Environmental Science and possesses a degree in one of the subject areas or a related field. The ideal candidate teaches the upper level life science courses with an emphasis inquiry-based labs. The desired candidate should possess a strong depth of knowledge in the discipline subject area and will work closely with colleagues in the Science Department and throughout the Upper School. Active collaboration with Learning Strategists, Librarians, Educational Technologists, and Counselors to develop strategies to support all students may be required. The Long-Term Biology/AP Environmental Science Sub attends meetings and maintains good communication with families about student progress through regular progress reports and responses to parents’ inquiries.
