For the 2025-2026 School Year:
Saint Benedict the Moor seeks a dedicated and passionate Math and Science Teacher to join our middle school faculty. The successful candidate will teach math and science courses for grades 6-8 students, fostering academic growth and spiritual development.

As an educator in a Catholic school, the teacher will integrate faith into the curriculum and create a positive, supportive environment that promotes learning and personal development. This position requires a deep knowledge of middle school-level math and science content, as well as the ability to inspire and guide students academically and morally.

Key Responsibilities:
Instruction: Teach math and science classes to middle school students, ensuring that lessons are engaging, clear, and aligned with state standards and the school’s Catholic values.

Develop and implement lesson plans that incorporate hands-on activities, technology, and real-world applications.
Use various teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
Create and maintain a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and intellectual curiosity.

Incorporate Catholic values into the curriculum, helping students to grow in faith and character.
Participate in prayer and other spiritual activities with students to enhance their Catholic education.
Collaborate with other faculty and staff to support students' spiritual, academic, and emotional needs.

Collaboration and Professional Development:

Work closely with other teachers and school staff to support interdisciplinary learning and address students' needs.
Attend faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
Engage in continuous self-reflection and improvement as an educator.

Classroom Management:

Maintain a well-organized, disciplined, and respectful classroom environment.
Establish clear expectations and guidelines for student behavior, addressing issues promptly and appropriately.

Communication:

Communicate effectively with students, parents, and administration regarding academic progress, classroom activities, and school policies.
Maintain timely communication with parents regarding student performance and behavior.
Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, Science, or a related field.
PA Certification is preferred.

Experience:

Previous experience teaching middle school math and science (grades 6-8) is highly preferred.
Knowledge of current teaching strategies, assessment methods, and educational technologies.
Experience in a Catholic educational setting is a plus.
