JOB SUMMARY
This person is responsible for installing and maintaining LCSS computer communication networks, ensuring networks are running smoothly and upgrading networks to provide maximum performance. Primary responsibilities include installing network infrastructure and associated software, management of server hardware and software, and management of LCSS storage. This person also documents and manages security related hardware/software.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Install server hardware and software infrastructure; maintain network services, equipment, and various network devices.
Monitor network usage and security, including performance of routine preventative measures (i.e software updates).
Manage firewall, web application firewall, and web filtering.
Ensure networks are running smoothly.
Ensure systems comply with industry standards.
Configure security settings or access permissions for groups or individuals.
Configure and define parameters for installation or testing of local area network, wide area network (WAN), routers, switches, controllers, multiplexers, VLANs, and related networking equipment.
Monitor industry websites or publications for information about patches, releases, viruses, or potential problem identification.
Support administration of virtual and physical servers.
Manage Server Backup & Recovery systems.
Performing disaster recovery operations and data backups when required.
Windows Active Directory (AD) management.
Setup and deploy Cisco layer 3 Switches/Routers and wireless networking.
Maintain Network Documentation records.
Maintain a high degree of computer literacy with the ability to train and give assistance to others.
Help determine user specifications for hardware purchases.
Assist in providing support for Help Desk tickets.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors (preferred) or Associates degree in Computer Engineering or related field
Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
Must be discreet and able to maintain confidentiality
Understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, SNMP, DNS, and DHCP.
Working knowledge with Linux Server Systems, Ubiquiti Network Equipment and Apple knowledge
Demonstrated knowledge of repair and maintenance of computer hardware.
MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) preferred
MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator) preferred
CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Administrator) preferred
Other equivalent certifications or education
