POSITION SUMMARY: All Souls Catholic Preschool in South San Francisco is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and faith filled Preschool Teacher's Aide or Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This part-time position supports the spiritual, social, and academic growth of young learners in alignment with our Catholic values and the California Preschool Learning Foundations and Framework. The role includes close collaboration with the Preschool Director and the School Principal and offers a strong possibility of becoming full time.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The essential functions of the All Souls Preschool Teacher’s Aide or Teacher shall include but is not limited to: ● Assist in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities in alignment with the California Preschool Curriculum Framework. ● Foster a nurturing and faith-based classroom environment that supports the dignity and individuality of each child. ● Supervise children to ensure a safe, healthy , and engaging learning environment. ● Support children in developing foundational skills in language, math, motor coordination, social-emotional development, and religious formation. ● Collaborate with the Preschool Director, and school principal to maintain high standards of early childhood education. ● Assist with classroom preparation, set-up, clean-up, and maintaining an orderly and welcoming space. ● Help with snack distribution, toileting routines, and other caregiving tasks as needed. ● Communicate positively and professionally with children, parents, and staff. ● Participate in professional development opportunities and school events as required.
QUALIFICATIONS: ● Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with young children, teachers, parents, and staff. ● Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and maintain an orderly classroom environment. ● Cultural Sensitivity: Ability to work in a diverse cultural setting, respecting and valuing different backgrounds and perspectives.
EXPERIENCE: ● Experience Working with Preschool-aged children in an educational or caregiving setting. ● Practicing Catholic or willingness to support the Catholic mission of the school. ● Strong interpersonal and communication skills. ● Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and under the guidance of the Preschool Director and School Principal.
POSITION DETAILS: ● Part-time, Monday through Friday (exact hours to be determined). ● Strong potential to transition to a full-time role based on performance and school needs. ● Hourly wage commensurate with experience and education. ● Must meet all licensing requirements set forth by the California Department of Social Services
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS ● For Teacher role: Minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units required: AA or BA in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred. ● For Teacher’s Aide role: Minimum of 6 ECE units required; must be working toward 12 ECE units
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS ● Ability to sit, walk, stand and climb stairs, alternating as needed and sometimes for prolonged periods of time. ● Must be able to bend, pull and also reach above shoulder level. ● Must be able to lift 25 pounds RATE ● Part-time, regular, non-exempt ● $20.00r - $33.00 / hour
