Position Overview
Big Shoulders Fund seeks collaborative and inspirational leaders for school leader vacancies in our network. We are looking for candidates that possess the leadership skills needed to promote and enhance school success. Strong candidates will cherish the opportunities inherent in leading a school with considerable financial, academic, and operational support through its partnership with Big Shoulders Fund.
Requirements for the School Principalship
-Minimum 3 years teaching experience and holds valid PEL.
-Master's degree and an Illinois Principal Certificate, or be willing to start a program towards getting such certification.
-Thoughtful leader who can inspire, lead with zeal, and work effectively with faculty and staff.
-Collaborative instructional leader who understands the principles of effective teaching.
-Values and helps strengthen school’s relationships with board, parents/families, parish, and community partners.
-Must have excellent listening, written, and verbal language skills.
-Must value and support a vibrant extracurricular program.
-Must demonstrate good management and organizational skills.
-Practicing Catholic preferred.
Principal will be hired and employed by the Archdiocese of Chicago and will receive comprehensive support from Big Shoulders Fund.
