Sister Thea Bowman Catholic School located in East St. Louis, Illinois is seeking an elementary school Principal. Sister Thea Bowman Catholic School provides academic excellence in Kindergarten through 8th grade. The position will be available July 1, 2025.

The spiritual, mental, physical, and social development of each child is the core of Sister Thea Bowman Catholic School. The school encourages students to gain a deeper understanding of church tenets, Christian and family attitudes, and their relationship with God, nature, and all humanity.

The principal is responsible for the overall operation and management of the school with specific focus on spiritual and curriculum development. The principal must be a visionary leader who can unite the faculty, staff, and school community in collaborating for the greater good of the Catholic church; create an environment that promotes the Catholic faith and moral teachings; develop strategic initiatives to promote growth; manage the financial assets of the school; and cultivate the spiritual and professional growth of faculty and staff through strong management skills.

Applicants should hold a master’s degree and an Illinois Administrator Endorsement (Type 75); experience in elementary school teaching and/or administration; management and budgetary experience; and familiarity with Catholic education is preferred. Applicants are required to be a faithful, committed Catholic who understands and accepts the teachings and disciplines of the Catholic Church.

Starting Salary Range – $60,000 – 70,000 (Final salary will be determined by relevant skills, education, and experience.)
