Position Summary:
Immaculata Catholic School seeks a School Resource Officer (SRO) to help ensure a safe, welcoming, and orderly campus environment. The SRO will be a visible, accessible, and trusted presence for students, faculty, staff, and families. In addition to campus safety, the role includes student mentorship, emergency preparedness, and collaboration with school leadership on safety procedures and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary presence for campus safety during school hours
Monitor entrances, exits, and general campus activity
Build positive relationships with students and support social-emotional development
Collaborate with administration to maintain and update emergency and crisis protocols
Assist in planning and conducting safety drills and trainings
Respond to incidents and coordinate with local emergency services as needed
Support arrival, dismissal, and other transitional times during the school day
Minimum Qualifications:
Prior experience in law enforcement, school safety, or a related field
Training in crisis response, de-escalation, and youth engagement preferred
Ability to work collaboratively and compassionately in a school environment
Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education
Must pass a background check and complete diocesan Safe Environment Training within 60 days of hire
