Are you a social studies or humanities professional with tutoring or academic coaching experience? Are you interested in growing in a teaching or educator role?

Cristo Rey Jesuit High School is looking for a Social Studies Interventionist/Co-Teacher. An Interventionist provides direct academic support to students in classes like World History and other Humanities or Social Studies content. This position will also co-teach a World History class with established curriculum. In order to best support our students and families, additional language skills, particularly in Spanish, Somali, or Vietnamese, are highly preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Direct Academic Intervention

Implement Tier 2 and 3 academic interventions for identified students experiencing learning loss.
Administer high-quality, reliable assessments as needed to assess students’ academic progress.
Collaborate with Academic and Corporate Work Study teams to teach strategies that build students’ positive habits and Executive Function skills.
Provide information and supports to families regarding students’ academic progress.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with a major, minor, or comparable credential of content expertise in Social Studies Education, Humanities, or World History.
Minimum of 2 years successful high school or middle school teaching or tutoring experience.
Knowledge of best practices in secondary education and competency in designing and implementing curricula to serve a heterogeneous student population diverse in culture, religion, and ability.
Ability to connect with culturally and linguistically diverse students and their families.

Ability to build strong relationships, collaborate, and cultivate a loving, joyful school culture.
Complete Virtus training, sign a Code of Conduct, and pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

State of Minnesota teacher’s license.
Multilingual skills; Spanish, Somali, or Vietnamese strongly preferred.
Proficient in data management and analysis. Familiarity or willingness to learn PowerSchool, Excel, Google sheets, and other technology tools.
Knowledge of Multi-Tiered Support Services (MTSS).
