About Archbishop Riordan High School
Archbishop Riordan High School is an urban Catholic high school, owned by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of
San Francisco and conducted by the Society of Mary, the Marianists, who are assisted by lay men and women.
ARHS prepares young men and women of San Francisco, the surrounding communities and various countries
from around the world for leadership through its inclusive college preparatory curriculum. ARHS fosters
development in faith, character, academics, the arts and athletics, in a diverse and inclusive family
environment.
Position: Spanish Teacher (Full-time, 5/5 sections)
The Modern Language Department at Archbishop Riordan High School has an opening for a full-time teacher.
Experience should include teaching Spanish 1-3 at grade levels 9-12.
Responsibilities:
• Preparing/implementing lesson plans that lead to student mastery of curriculum content
• Regularly assessing student progress to refine instruction and meet student needs through the
use of technology
• Participating regularly in professional development opportunities and collaborative meetings, plus
participate in co-curricular activities
• Communicating frequently with students, students’ families, colleagues and other stakeholders
• Working with students and their families to promote personal growth and success
• Maintaining regular, punctual attendance and a successful learning environment in the classroom
• Understanding and using educational technology
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
• Commitment to Riordan’s mission and Marianist values
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in subject area or Master’s degree
• Secondary teaching credential preferred
• Secondary level teaching experience preferred
• Experience teaching Spanish 1-3 at a high school level
• Understanding of the mission and values of Archbishop Riordan High School and the Archdiocese
of San Francisco
Compensation/FLSA
Exempt. Salary is based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement, ranging from $69,626 to $109,376.
