About the Role
Arrupe Jesuit High School is seeking an Spanish Teacher who will be responsible for delivering high-quality Spanish instruction in accordance with Jesuit educational traditions, fostering critical thinking, literacy, and communication skills in students. The teacher will create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment, incorporating Ignatian pedagogical principles that encourage personal growth, intellectual curiosity, and social responsibility.
Plan and deliver dynamic and rigorous Spanish instruction in literature, composition, and language arts
Design and implement curriculum aligned with Jesuit educational principles and school standards
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse student learning needs
Assign and evaluate student work, providing timely and constructive feedback
Foster a culture of academic integrity and lifelong learning
Ability to be available for school events outside regular class hours
Participate in ongoing professional development, faculty, meetings, and Jesuit formation programs
Engage with parents, faculty, and administration to support student success
Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and school initiatives

Candidate Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Spanish or a related field
Teaching credential or relevant certification preferred but not required
Strong knowledge of Spanish literature, composition, and critical analysis
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Passion for working with underserved students and fostering their academic and personal growth
Experience teaching in a Catholic or Jesuit school setting preferred but not required
