STEM/Makerspace Teacher & Instructional Assistant (K-8)

Notre Dame Elementary School (NDE), a private Catholic school, is committed to developing

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic STEM/Makerspace Teacher with a strong background in science,
technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) to lead hands-on makerspace classes for
students in grades K-8. This educator will design and implement interactive, project-based
lessons that inspire creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
In addition to leading makerspace instruction, the teacher will also serve as an instructional
assistant during designated times, supporting classroom teachers and contributing to the
school’s collaborative learning environment.
Responsibilities:
● Develop and deliver engaging K-8 makerspace lessons that integrate STEM concepts,
design thinking, and hands-on learning.
● Create a student-centered makerspace environment that fosters innovation and
collaboration.
● Incorporate technology, robotics, coding, and engineering concepts into instruction.
● Manage makerspace materials, tools, and equipment safely and effectively.
● Support classroom teachers as an instructional assistant during non-makerspace
periods.
● Assist students with projects, experiments, and interactive learning activities.
● Collaborate with faculty to integrate STEM principles into various subjects.
● Encourage students to think independently, work collaboratively, and express original
ideas.
Qualifications:
● Degree in STEM-related fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or Education
with a STEM focus.
