The chance to be immersed in a high-quality program for two-weeks and to grow all year long.

Language acquisition is complex. A teacher truly needs to be detail-oriented and data-driven, but also truly love the child in the process.

What have you learned about creating culturally sustaining classrooms?

A child's culture cannot be defined in a few fixed words and that we should try to go the extra mile to connect with families.

Would you recommend the Hernandez Fellows to other schools and dioceses?

I would recommend ENL because the level of challenge and the entire community keep you more intentional about your instructional practices.

What impact has the Hernandez Fellows had on you as a Catholic educator?

ENL has shaped my vocation by empowering me to increase both the effectiveness and joy throughout my classroom.
