April M. Garcia is an assistant professor in the Mary Ann Remick Leadership Program in the Institute for Educational Initiatives at the University of Notre Dame. She teaches graduate coursework in instructional leadership, spiritual leadership, and in support of the internship experience for aspiring Catholic school principals. She previously worked in the Archdiocese of San Antonio and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles at both the school and archdiocesan levels.
April earned her Ed.D. from the University of Southern California's Rossier School of Education, with a focus on Educational Leadership and K-12 Leadership in Urban School Settings. Her research focused on how PreK–12 Catholic school leaders perceive the influence of governance structures and diocesan climate on their leadership roles. She earned an undergraduate degree in the Mendoza College of Business as well as a Master of Education and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration, all from the University of Notre Dame.
