Collin Gortner works to advance education policy that empowers families and promotes educational equity by supporting the administrative and programming dimensions of ACE's Program for Educational Access. Additionally, Collin assists with the work of the ACE Teaching Fellows and the American Indian Catholic Schools Network.
Previously, Collin taught middle school social studies and writing at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School in Oklahoma City as a member of ACE 27. Highlights of his experience included spending time with students, making memories with his housemates, and exploring OKC!
Collin attended the University of Notre Dame ('20) and studied political science with minors in Constitutional Studies and Education, Schooling, & Society. He played intramural basketball, interned for Mayor Pete Buttigieg, and volunteered at the Center for the Homeless.
He is originally from Monticello, a small town in downstate Illinois.
