Job Summary: Saint Ignatius College Prep invites applications for a Director of Student Activities position. He or she works to cultivate comprehensive co-curricular activities that complement and enhance the Jesuit, Catholic mission of the school and helps promote student personal and social growth by overseeing the operation of student events, activities, and club offerings. Working at Saint Ignatius College Prep requires a commitment to the mission and values of the school.

This is a salaried three-fifths, school-year (10 months plus 2 weeks) in-person staff position, with periodic evening and weekend events throughout the year. The Director of Student Activities reports directly to the Assistant Prefect of Mission.

Responsibilities:

Support, promote, foster a robust co-curricular culture of clubs and activities within the Saint Ignatius student body

Oversee approximately 80 unique clubs and student organizations

Maintain and communicate the school’s co-curricular policies as related to clubs and activities.

Manage Activity Period calendar/schedule and related club initiatives and needs

Facilitate space requests for club meetings and activities including and beyond Activity Period

Oversee the planning and execution of all school dances, pep rallies, and other approved student events

Coordinate with respective school departments and vendors on event planning and execution

Recruit, hire, supervise, and evaluate all co-curricular moderators

Maintain and disseminate Moderator Handbook to club moderators annually.

Oversee moderator stipends and club budgets

Support club moderators in club management, operation, programmatic execution, and challenges

Observe and evaluate the initiatives of all co-curricular clubs, including but not limited to oversight of the club renewal process

Plan, program, and budget for the introduction, expansion and/or elimination of co-curricular programs

Oversee and continue to refine the club application processes

Collaborate with club moderators regarding proposals for club equipment and resources

Support moderators in the planning and execution of club-related field trips, competitions, and overnight trips

Oversee student approval processes and fee collection

Collaborate with club moderators on travel planning and logistics

Support student eligibility oversight as related to student participation in club activities and competitions

Oversee the management of Student Council.

Facilitate Student Council meetings with the support of co-moderators

Oversee Student Council elections and student campaign processes

Support students in program development and implementation

Communicate and uphold expectations for Student Council membership

Participate in applicable committees to support policies and procedures of the school, including but not limited to the School Coordinating Committee

Communicate and promote club initiatives

Submit Board of Trustee reports as requested

Prepare submissions for the Wolfpack Post

Support promotion of all club related activities and student events

Participate in the facilitation and implementation of Freshman Advisory Program

Prepare, submit, analyze and oversee an annual department budget and any club-specific budgets

Maintain working relationships and communication with the Parent Organization for student events

Work in collaboration with the Prefect’s Office to develop and promote co-curricular summer programming

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree

Strong interpersonal relationship skills

Evidence of leadership, supervisory and organizational skills

Evidence of good planning skills

Practicing Roman Catholic, preferred

Additional Information:

Salary is based on qualifications and experience.

Director of Student Activities responsibilities comprise the school year plus two weeks.

Employees are expected to work as many hours as their job responsibilities require, which includes evenings and weekends at times.

This position is eligible for Saint Ignatius College Prep’s excellent benefits package.

This is not a telecommuting position.

The Director of Student Activities is expected to be a full-time staff member. Additional responsibilities to comprise two-fifths of his/her role would be determined based on experience and school needs.

Salary Range: $40,000-$50,000*

*This range is respective to the three-fifths nature of the Director of Student Activities role. Full compensation would be determined commensurate with other identified responsibilities (two-fifths) based on skills and experience.
