About ACE

The University of Notre Dame’s Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE) consists of three main academic programs: the ACE Teacher Formation Program, the ACE Leadership Program, and the English as a New Language (ENL) Program. ACE Teacher Formation Program

ACE is a two-year service program offering college graduates the opportunity to serve as full-time teachers in under-resourced Catholic schools across the southern United States. Because we believe that good teachers need excellent formation, ACE prepares its teachers in an innovative Master of Education program at Notre Dame. ACE teachers represent a broad variety of undergraduate disciplines, with a diverse set of backgrounds and experiences. While teaching, participants live in small communities of 4-7 members and together share the many challenges and rewards of beginning teaching. ACE participants are encouraged to develop their own personal spirituality in the context of community, and to share with one another the journey of becoming committed Catholic school teachers. ACE Leadership

The ACE Leadership Program is a 26-month degree program, a Master of Arts in Educational Administration, which prepares committed and talented leaders to serve as Catholic school administrators.

ENL Program

The English as a New Language (ENL) Program is a one-year licensure program which prepares Catholic school teachers to serve more effectively the needs of students whose native language is not English.
