St. Joseph’s Catholic School (PK-5th Grade) is seeking a vice principal for 2025-2026 school year. This position is designed as a one-year transitional assignment, wherein a successful candidate will be a top candidate for the Principalship in the 2026-2027 school year.
This leader will serve our dedicated community of teachers, staff, parents, and students. The ideal candidate will possess a proven record of working with children and a dedication to educational excellence. Required experience and qualifications include successful teaching experience with instructional coaching/administrative experience preferred, a demonstrated commitment to the Catholic faith, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a high energy level for the positive challenges ahead. This is a 220-day position with an annual salary of $60-70,000, commensurate with experience, plus benefits including health insurance, and personal/sick/medical days. Relocation assistance would be available.
In collaboration with the school principal, responsibilities will include: • Effective organizational leadership
• Improvement of student outcomes through instructional leadership
• Development and implementation of effective staff professional development activities and programs to grow teacher and staff skill
• Maintenance of a positive, proactive culture that promotes the school’s mission
• Review and modification, as needed, of school instructional programs and services to better support student outcomes
• Recruitment, selection, coaching, and evaluation of school staff
• Development of school budget
Qualifications:
• Be a Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church; AND
• Hold a Master’s degree in the field of Education with a preference for Educational Administration/Supervision and/or Leadership; OR
• Within 3 years from the date of hire as Principal, obtain the degree and state or national certification in Educational Administration/Supervision and/or Leadership; AND
• Earn the *Catholic School Leadership Certificate from Creighton University if credentials do not include evidence of Catholic school experience (see below); AND
• Maintain recency-of-credit (six college credits or its equivalent) every five years. • Highly organized with the ability to perform administrative tasks efficiently and effectively • Outstanding communication skills to engage regularly with all members of the school community • At least 5 years of teaching and/or administrative experience
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
• Clearance to work in the United States
• Exhibit an understanding of Catholic Theology and philosophy of Catholic education. • Exhibit a personal philosophy, values, and lifestyle, which are consistent with the Catholic church.
• Possess the ability to work collaboratively with parish administration, diocesan personnel, faculty/staff, parents and parish organizations.
• Articulate and implement a vision for the school in areas of spirituality, learning, management, curriculum, advancement, and technology

Located in Macon, Georgia, which is 70 miles south of Atlanta, the school is a co-educational, parish Catholic day school serving 200 students in pre-K through grade 5. The diverse student body comes from across middle Georgia with a student body that is 57% Catholic.
