Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic School is located in Denver, Colorado and serves students from 3-year-old Preschool through Eighth Grade. St. Vincent de Paul School is led by the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia of Nashville, TN and first opened its doors in 1927. The Athletic Director is responsible for managing all extracurricular athletics for St. Vincent de Paul School Widgets (Gr. 3-4) and Crusaders (Gr.5 - 8). This includes team selection processes, weekly communications, uniform & equipment management, financial oversight and player/coach discipline when needed. The number of players can exceed 100 youth per season.

Description:
Part-time, non-benefitted, average of 20 hours/week: some weeks/seasons it is more hours depending on the gym schedule
Yearly Salary - $15,000
Requirements
Certification and Qualifications:
High School diploma
Experience working with elementary students in youth sports is preferred
Pass a Background Check
Complete Safe Environment Training through the Archdiocese of Denver
Competencies and Expectations:
Communication Skills – both in writing and emails, in speaking presentations to large groups, in small group meetings with principal, parents, players or coaches.
Financial Management – ability to track expenses, submit for payment, manage vendors, solicit bids for facilities repair or equipment, and provide oversight for overall budget.
Organization Skills – Candidates must possess effectiveness to multi-task, demonstrate an attention to detail, and anticipate upcoming deadlines, meetings, and events.
Team Selection Process – manage team tryouts when necessary, evaluate players for team placement considering multiple dynamics, communicating to parents and maintaining a firm control of the process.
Knowledge of and a history of playing, coaching AND managing multiple sports, understanding rules and dynamics associated with Grade 3-8 sports for both girls and boys.
Facilities and Equipment Management – manage inventory of uniforms assigned to players, equipment such as balls, nets, and upkeep of gym facilities.
Works with all staff members, faculty and administration and parish priests in a cooperative and supportive manner to support a strong athletic program.
Preferred: be a fully initiated Catholic in the communion of the Catholic Church and intentionally living out the five precepts of the Church (CCC 20412043);
Appropriate control and discipline techniques to successfully manage student players and parents.
Knowledge of and willingness to implement safety and emergency procedures.
Physical Requirements:
Requires lifting up to 40 pounds and carrying up to 40 pounds.
Ability to execute appropriate safety and emergency procedures, including leading evacuations and providing basic first aid.
